Welcome to my new website. I hope you enjoy your visit and that you will return again soon.
I have been working in textiles since completing a City & Guilds Embroidery course in 1993. It was during this time that I made my first patchwork quilt for a local exhibition.
Before taking a teaching post as a City & Guild tutor I taught in primary school. I really enjoy teaching, especially helping students to become confident with their own abilities and achieve their goals. Over the last few years I have taught embroidery, patchwork and quilting and textile decoration courses and workshops and I now also assess courses on-line for DesignMatters and have students worldwide.
My own work is influenced by my fascination with surface decoration. I usually begin a new series of work by developing a palette of fabric which involves dyeing and printing a variety of materials according to my theme.
I belong to the textile group SiX who regularly exhibit both nationally and internationally. This encourages me to focus on my own development and explore new ideas.
